Your bedroom should be your sanctuary
The only rule that I apply to bedrooms is that the colouring should be subtle.
It can be any colour so long as it’s toned down and not too dominant.
Take any colour that you love and then dial it back!
All white bedrooms can be quite stark but by adding grey this bedroom has both balance & warmth.
Grey and white are my perfect go to colours for internal walls as they’re so crisp & modern.
Grey & white works in every style of home and are a perfect backdrop for all decorating styles.
Lilac accents work well with silver & grey as seen in this bedroom.
Patterns & different textures are mixed to create interest, while the
oversized behead balances out the horizontal space of the bed.
If you’re a fan of red then why not use a washed out red similar to this vintage persian rug
with it’s faded red background, you still have the colour but without the intensity of a solid red.
Your colour can be added in your drapes as well as a pale wall as shown in this bedroom.
The oversized bedhead also tones down the wall colour. This principal also applies with wallpaper.
I will use wallpaper on all walls of a bedroom if there’s to be a lot of furniture in the room.
You then see glimpses of the wallpaper without
it being the main feature of the room giving a balance of furniture and wallpaper.
This is a perfect example of how to add pink to a room without it
looking overly feminine or overpowering.
The grey balances out the room as it did with the white bedroom.
Crisp white sheets work beautifully in this powder blue bedroom.
Walls, bedhead & throw all add just the right amount of blue ensuring a restful nights sleep.
Our colour selections are all
Until next time
