Palm Beach Open House
Late last year I was invited by Claire Bradley, Editor in Chief of Inside Out Magazine to an
Open for Inspection at a house in Palm Beach. An invitation I quickly accepted and off I set to Sydney’s Northern Beaches with my trusty camera in hand. I was met onsite by the lovely team from Inside Out Magazine and what appeared to be a modest cottage from the street turned out to be something rather unexpected.
From the road you see the roof of the house with water glimpses through the windows.
Step inside and this house has been designed with how this family lives in a home that truly reflects living inside and out. The water views are simply stunning.
As I learned the story of this house I was touched when I discovered that the architect designed this house for his parents to downsize to – adding even more meaning to what was to unfold as I walked through this stunning home.
Upon entering the house you head downstairs & just beyond a staircase leading to an upstairs storage area, immediately to your left is the master bedroom.
The master bedroom has been designed with tranquility in mind, both in the room itself and in the stunning views visible as there are shutters over the living room enabling you to take in the panorama of the water views that lay ahead.
The master bedroom has an ensuite that to me was everything French.
Practical, stylish & just the right amount of elements all combined.
The simplicity was the perfect answer to this stunning yet simple house.
Downstairs to the living room which was a light filled, comfortable living space.
Personalised elements filled the room along with comfortable seating & more of the white on white decor that fills the rest of the house.
A stunning view visible from both the master bedroom and the living room.
Australian’s truly have the market cornered with this style of indoor/outdoor living.
Waking to a view like this is guaranteed to set you up for a perfect day.
The house is awash with white and these black accents are the perfect compliment. The roofline soars and the sea of white is the perfect backdrop for the the blue of the water views in this stunning home.
The living room is tranquil & timeless, yet still maintains the personality of the family living there.
I met Shannon Voss on the day, you might remember him from The Block.
Shannon was both warm and extremely knowledgeable about the house & the journey
it had undertaken to get to where it is today.
When walking downstairs I had no idea what to expect and then I came across two bedrooms that while very basic in their content, where all that was needed when staying overnight. The Sheridan throws with their warm grey hues were exactly what a whitewashed room needed to add that extra warmth to the bedroom.
A plunge pool is the perfect way to cool off on a hot Palm Beach day.
