Laptop Lobotomy, Knobbly Knees & Perfect Pinterest

What a week!

My beloved laptop, a birthday gift from my husband, has been unwell for over a week.
She is receiving the best possible treatment but is being totally overhauled due to a particularly
nasty virus she caught.   Ok she didn’t exactly catch it, I sort of pressed the wrong button
and voila – a virus!

She is currently undergoing some intensive treatment and I should have her
working any day now.  In the interim – a borrowed laptop.

What to do without my laptop??  Exercise!
I decided to ramp up my regular yoga and pilates and add in a zumba class – mmmmmm
That landed me at the doctors, followed by the Physio and now I have taped knees and
have been forced to resort to the only known “safe sport” – shopping!
Three tops & a dress later and I’m actually starting to feel a whole lot better.

So onto the pretty part of this blog

With in excess of 9,500 Pinterest pins I have selected 24 of my favourite images to share with and inspire you

Grey Glamour

What does the colour grey
mean to you?

Grey Paint

When googling words to describe grey
I found the following

Detatched
Neutral
Impartial
Solid
Stable
Subdued
Quiet
Reserved
Indecisive (a fence sitter)
Compromise (neither black nor white)

To me , grey is

Glamour
Style
Sophistication
A neutral that never goes out of style
and
so much more – as reflected in the following images

DIY Project

DIY

With my passion for moving pieces from room to room I knew the shape of the black and white
lampshades were perfect to move from the living to bedroom, but the black and white was too hard
for the room with its creams, chocolate & gold colour scheme.

Then I was walking through Lincraft and this idea came to me.

The black and white didn’t quite work with the softer colours in the room

Before lampshade
One hour, some ribbon, glue, pins & scissors and ………………………

AfterWhat do you think of it now?

After lampshade

The champagne ribbon adds just the right amount of softness to the shade to have it work perfectly
with the other colours in the room.

My weekend, Banquette Seating & The Re-Love Project

My weekend

Stephen and I went to Young Friday night and were then back in time for him to play baseball Sunday morning.  I love spending time there, the air is clean, the people so friendly and it’s a life time away from our busy lives in Sydney.

Gabby's Cottage, Springfield, Young - The Style ProjectThis is Gabby’s Cottage at Springfield where we stayed

A walk in Young - The Style ProjectBefore we headed into town I went for a walk. It was a stunning morning and turned into a truly perfect day.

coloured blue lineWhy not add a custom touch to your dining experience with banquette seating?

Anytime you have the opportunity to put your own stamp on a room – seize it.

Banquette seating is retro yet modern, stylish, practical and have I already mentioned stylish?

Indoors, outdoors, formal or casual, all of these situations lend themselves perfectly to this style of seating.

Banquette is a diminutive for the French word for bench.

Normally built in, this furniture piece takes up less floor space than dining chairs.

I have been asked to be one of 8 designers for this year’s Re-Love Project

Each designer is asked to upcycle and transform a piece of timber furniture to create a unique statement piece that will be auctioned on eBay with the proceeds going to the Salvos Stores.

I will be posting images of the project as I go along, but for now here’s what will be known in the future as

The Glamour Chest

In the coming month this rather humble piece will be transformed into a stunning lady!
